Arab-Israeli conflict

The Arab–Israeli conflict spans roughly one century of political tensions and open hostilities, though Israel itself only was established in 1948. It involves the establishment of the Zionist movement and the subsequent creation of the modern State of Israel in territory regarded by the Pan-Arab movement as belonging to the Palestinians, be they Muslim, Christian, Druze or other, and by the Jewish people as their historical homeland.
For centuries, divided the Jewish people lived in several countries, especially in Europe, which is known as Diaspora. The coexistence of Jews with the rest of Europe was not always easy, especially the persecution and pogroms in Eastern Europe in the late nineteenth century was a determining period for the emergence and political equal, claiming statehood for all the Jewish communities scattered around the world.
In 1914 the Ottoman Empire decided to enter the First World War and the British government began to see the Zionist movement as a potential ally in a war that seemed to develop evil allies.
During the 20 years the number of Jews in Palestine increased significantly: in 1922 there were 83,790 of a total population of 752,048 in 1929 was 156,481 in a total population of 992,559, doubling its population in seven years. In 1984 Arafat consolidate his authority as leader of the Palestinian national movement was a year after causing a breach of the agreement with Jordan on Palestinian sovereignty in the West Bank. Israel began a major offensive in Lebanon and launched an air raid on PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) headquarters in Tunisia three years later in the month of August, King Hussein of Jordan gave the Palestinians their rights on the West Bank. In November, the Palestinian National Council in Algiers proclaimed the state of Palestine and accept the UN resolution 242. There is a high immigration of Jews from the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). A few years later in 1991, Iraqi missiles fell in February in Israel, which does not respond to the attack. Iraq was defeated in the Gulf War. The defeat of Iraq weakens the position of Arafat in the Palestinian liberation movement. After the Gulf conflict the Baker plan fails to refuse to Israel that the PLO represent the Palestinians and change land for peace. Five years later after new Hamas suicide bombings that caused 32 deaths. The following year in January an agreement is reached for the withdrawal of Israeli forces deployed in Hebron. A year later, in February the Israeli population collects gas masks and food, the shadow of the Gulf War two years after Israel agreed successive folds in the West Bank. Barak, Israeli prime minister, facing criticism for the concessions to the PNA. The following year Sharon wins the Israeli elections and becomes the new prime minister. For the transfer of power, Barak withdrew all its proposals. Sharon refuses to co-operation for a UN investigation. Israel bombards Palestinian positions.

Family Guy

Family Guy is an animated American television sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane the 31, January of 1999 in USA.

The show usually revolves around the adventures of
Peter Griffin, a bumbling but well-intentioned blue-collar worker. Peter is an Irish American Catholic with a thick Rhode Island / Eastern Massachusetts accent. His wife Lois is generally a stay-at-home mother and piano teacher, and has a distinct New England accent from being a member of the Pewterschmidt family of wealthy socialites. Peter and Lois have three children: teenage daughter Meg, who is frequently the butt of Peter's jokes due to her homeliness and lack of popularity; teenage son Chris, who is overweight, unintelligent and, in many respects, a younger version of his father; and son Stewie, a diabolical infant of ambiguous sexual orientation who has adult mannerisms and speaks fluently with an affected upper-class, mid-Atlantic English accent and stereotypical archvillain phrases. Living with the family is Brian, the family dog, who is highly anthropomorphized, walks on two legs, drinks Martinis, smokes cigarettes and engages in human conversation, though he is still considered a pet in many respects.
The majority of events on the show take place in Quahog, Rhode Island.
The voice of Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin and Stewie Griffin is from Seth MacFarlane. The Lois Griffin voice is from
Alex Borstein, the Chris Griffin voice is from Seth Green. The Meg griffin is from 4 persons: Rachael MacFarlane, Lacey Chabert, Mila Kunis and Tara Strong.
Here are the families of some one character.

Countable and uncountable nouns

Countable nouns:

Countable nouns are easy to recognize. They are things that we can count. For example: "pen". We can count pens. We can have one, two, three or more pens. Here are some more countable nouns:

dog, cat, person, bottle, box, coin...

Countable nouns can be singular or plural:
My dogs are hungry.

We can use the indefinite article a/an with countable nouns:

A dog is an animal.

When a countable noun is singular, we must use a word like a/the/my/this with it:
I want an orange.

Uncountable Nouns:
Uncountable nouns are substances, concepts etc that we cannot divide into separate elements. We cannot "count" them. For example, we cannot count "milk". We can count "bottles of milk" or "litres of milk", but we cannot count "milk" itself. Here are some more uncountable nouns:

music, art, love, happiness, advice, information, news...

We usually treat uncountable nouns as singular. We use a singular verb. For example:
This news is very important.

We do not usually use the indefinite article a/an with uncountable nouns. We cannot say "an information" or "a music". But we can say a something of:
a piece of news

We can use some and any with uncountable nouns:
I've got some money.

Ecology is the scientific study of the distribution and abundance of life and the interactions between organisms and their environment. The environment of an organism includes physical properties, which can be described as the sum of local abiotic factors such as insolation, climate, and geology, and biotic factors, which are other organisms that share its habitat.

The term ecology or oekologie was coined by the German biologist Ernst Haeckel in 1866, when he defined it as "the comprehensive science of the relationship of the organism to the environment." Haeckel did not elaborate on the concept, and the first significant textbook on the subject (together with the first university course) was written by the Danish botanist, Eugenius Warming. For this early work, Warming is often identified as the founder of ecology.

PAST SIMPLE TENCE

Examples: You called Carmen. Did you call Elisa? You did not call Ana.

Use the Simple Past to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past. Sometimes, the speaker may not actually mention the specific time, but they do have one specific time in mind.

Examples: I saw a movie yesterday. I didn't see a play yesterday. Last year, I traveled to Spain. Last year, I didn't travel to France. Did you have dinner last night? She washed her car. He didn't wash his car.

We use the Simple Past to list a series of completed actions in the past. These actions happen 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on.

Examples: I finished work, walked to the beach, and found a nice place to swim. He arrived from the airport at 8:00, checked into the hotel at 9:00, and met the others at 10:00. Did you add flour, pour in the milk, and then add the eggs?

Past Continuous

[Was/were + present participle]

Examples: • You were studying when she called. • Were you studying when she called. • You were not studying when she called. • Interrupted Action in the Past

Use the Past Continuous to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted. The interruption is usually a shorter action in the Simple Past.

Examples: • Last night at 6 PM, I was eating dinner. • At midnight, we were still driving through the desert.

IMPORTANT: In the Simple Past, a specific time is used to show when an action began or finished. In the Past Continuous, a specific time only interrupts the action.

Examples:

• Last night at 6 PM, I ate dinner. I STARTED EATING AT 6 PM.

• Last night at 6 PM, I was eating dinner. I STARTED EARLIER; AND AT 6 PM, I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF EATING DINNER.

Arranged weddings

An arranged marriage is a marriage arranged by someone other than the persons getting married, curtailing or avoiding the process of courtship. Such marriages are common in the Middle East, South Asia, parts of Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Other groups that practice this custom include the Unification Movement, and royal families.
Note that the term "arranged marriage" is used even if the parents have no direct involvement in selecting the spouse. The match could be selected by a matchmaking agent, matrimonial site, or trusted third party. In many communities, priests or religious leaders as well as relatives or family friends play a major role in matchmaking.

In India

Arranged marriages have been an integral part of Indian society for centuries, and even today people having their marriages planned by their parents and other respected family-members, with the consent of the bride and groom, does occur. Arranged matches were made after taking into account factors such as the compatibility of the couples' horoscopes, the backgrounds of their families and their castes. The institution of marriage in India is considered a very important one. Thus, parents felt that since they were older and wiser than their progeny, they would be able to find a suitable match for their children with more prudence than the latter. Although most marriages are arranged, some couples are opting for love marriage in urban areas.
